Ferry Information and Schedules
For your next family vacation, fishing excursion, honeymoon spot, weekend getaway or just for an escape from the everyday norm, head to Ocracoke to enjoy your next vacation experience. Though an island vacation spot may seem isolated, reaching Ocracoke by plane, ferry, or private watercraft is part of the allure and charm that has been captivating visitors for years.

Vacationers heading to Ocracoke, can partake of ferry reservations on either the Swan Quarter-to-Ocracoke or Cedar Island-to-Ocracoke routes. To travel on the Hatteras-to-Ocracoke route, plan to arrive early, as service is provided on a first come first served basis.
Advance reservations are available and recommended but will require a credit card to process the reservation. Any passengers already in possession of tickets need to check in at the Ferry Terminal and keep in mind that tickets must be redeemed at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Call 1-800-BY-FERRY daily from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time for reservations or make a reservation online. All reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Driving Directions
When leaving Ocracoke Island, visitors can choose from two ferry terminals. To travel to Hatteras Island, select the ferry terminal on N.C. 12 at the northern tip of the island. For those heading to Swan Quarter or Ceder Island, choose the ferry terminal at the southern tip of the island on N.C. 12.
